Year 6 Transition Athletics competition
Yesterday, 8 of our Year 6's were chosen to represent Prospect Vale at an Athletics competition held at SportCity in Manchester.
4 boys and 4 girls from PV joined up with 8 pupils from another local Primary School and 8 Year 7's from Cheadle Hulme High School to make the 'Mighty Orange team'!
Each athlete had to compete in 1 track event, 1 field event and the whole team relay.
The team finished in 4th place otherall but individually our pupils gave some outstanding performances -
1st place, 60 metres heat 1 - Ruby
2nd place, 60 metres heat 2 - Abi
1st place, 60 metres heat 6 - Evan
4th place, 60 metres heat 4 - Sebastian
4th place, 400 metres heat 4 - Eliza
5th place, 400 metres heat 5 - Fatima
2nd place, 400 metres heat 3 - Oliver
1st place, 400 metres heat 5 - Joseph
Our pupils did Prospect Vale proud with their amazing performances, fantastic behaviour and great sportsmanship throughout the event. It was made even better by allowing the children the chance to compete in a top class athletics arena and time to walk around the famous Etihad stadium!
Well done all of you.
