Smile for a mile - Whole School Challenge - End of half term results!
We have come to the end of our 1st 'Smile for a mile - Whole school Challenge'.
All our children from Years 1 - 6 have taken part weekly in our timed 10 minute dash :) The progress and brilliant running has amazing across the whole school, I am super proud of the effort everyone has put in and the resilience as we have battled through a few days of awkward British weather!
The final results...........
Week 5 - 1st place, Year 5 with 408 laps
2nd place, Year 6 with 358 laps
3rd place - Year 4 with 316 laps
Year 3, 277 laps. Year 2, 251 laps. Year 1, 230 laps. Whole school total = 1840 laps/131.5 miles!!
Week 6 - 1st place, Year 5387 laps
2nd place, Year 6 with 373 laps
3rd place, Year 4 with 329 laps
Year 3, 325 laps. Year 2, 253 laps. Year 1, 196 laps. Whole school total = 1863 laps/132.5 miles!!
Over the 6 weeks the whole school total is =
10,780 laps/768 miles!! INCREDIBLE
YEAR 5 WERE THE OVERALL SCHOOL CHAMPIONS WITH 2250 LAPS/160.5 MILES - SO THEY MADE IT TO BIRMINGHAM AND BACK!
As well as exceptional team work whilst running as a whole class team, the children have competed for their own personal best lap scores and challenged themselves each week..
Each class had 2 overall'Class Champions' (the most amount of laps recorded over the 6 weeks) and some 'Most improved/Star effort' Champions (children who consistantly pushed themselves, showed greatest improvement, consistantly ran well) and were awarded with personal certificates..

Year 3 - Lewis, Benyamin, Gabriel & Shanzay
Year 4 - Dawood, Jaya, Zac, Kira & Jack
Year 5 - Charlie G, Sam N, Hibbah & Zakariya
Year 6 - Fatima, Zainab, Maisie & Sebastian
THE OVERALL WHOLE SCHOOL CHAMPION WAS CHARLIE G FROM YEAR 5 WITH A STAGGERING 105 LAPS!
A huge WELL DONE to all our children.. What amazing talent we have here at PV!
An even bigger Well done to our KS1 children who were truely magnificent - Year 1's total was 1251 laps/89 miles and Year 2's total was 1514 laps/107.5 miles....... SUPERB :)
