SHAPES Sports leader training

Every year, I have a team of trained sports leaders from Year 5 and 6, to assist in the delivery of active playtimes, and organise and help with special events throughout the year.

Last year, 6 of our current Year 6's were trained and are now experienced leaders - Lewis, Charlie B, James, Shanzay, Amaya & Aiza.  They continue to be our leadership team and then I add more annually (to have 18 leaders)

Last week 12 pupils from Year 5 and 6 went to Aquinas college to have their 'Official' sports leader training morning.

The morning involved taking part in small group team games and challenges, working alongside other sports leaders from Stockport Primary Schools.

As always, our pupils were a credit to PV and took so many new ideas to bring back to school to use at playtimes and lunchtimes to keep our school active!

Our sports leaders have a weekly rota and are an active part of the 'Creating active schools' kitemark we have here at PV.
